Ecclesiastes 3 (NKJV)
3 To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
God has a time for everything. If you continue to read Ecclesiastes you will see it in detail. So whether we are moving with the seasons or not, time is still moving into tomorrow just as my daughter said.
Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
So time moves into tomorrow, but we should not worry about it. We need to focus on finishing what needs to be done for today. We have to be accountable for the time that God has given us in each day and use our time wisely. Time waits on no man.
2 Peter 3:8 (NKJV)
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
We need time to keep us accountable but to God our time means nothing just as my 4 year old said. God is the keeper of time and holds time in His hands.
James 4:14(NKJV)
14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
Our years here are like a vapor to God. We have to do good and make the most of our time here according to God’s plan for our lives.
Ecclesiastes 12:14 (NKJV)
14 For God will bring every work into judgment,
Including every secret thing,
Whether good or evil.
God is watching everything that we do with our time. He wants us to bring Him glory with everything we do, but unfortunately we get it wrong sometimes. It is so important that we examine ourselves and let the Holy Spirit convict us so that we may quickly repent. Thank God for the blood of Jesus and His mercy that endures forever!
Proverbs 13:4
The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.
We can’t get lazy and put things off that we are supposed to be doing. We must be diligent with our time so God will prosper us.
Ecclesiastes 3:11New King James Version (NKJV)
11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
Time is always on time. We plant a seed and we can’t see God working its process underground, but it will sprout and blossom right on time!
Habakkuk 2:3(NKJV)
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry.
The promise of our vision has a time that we need to wait for. Though we are waiting, we must still move forward with the process of patience that God is working in us. We are still operating in our daily functions and gifts while waiting on God’s perfect timing.
Galatians 6:9-10 (NKJV)
9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
So time gives us the opportunity to do good and in its appointed time we will reap the benefits of it.
John 6:51
I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”
Psalm 90:2
Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.
Time never ends. Time is forever. It is everlasting. Though our days are numbered here on the earth (that’s why what we do with our time is so important), time still moves on even into eternity.
Daniel 12:2
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.
We have a choice to know God’s love and realize that the time that he gives us here on earth and in eternity is because of His love. Just as my 1 year old told me she loved me when asked about time, we have a choice to love God with our time as He loves us.
Jeremiah 31:3
The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
This is the purpose of it all. God wants us all to know His love and experience His fullness. Our time here is so short. We must not put off what God has given us to do. We must share the love of God with others and give them an opportunity to know how precious their time is. We all are held accountable to our own time. What are we doing with it? Let’s rise up and make the most of the time that God has given us!
Father we thank You for the gift of time that You have given us. Forgive us for being lazy and not always using our time wisely. Help us set priorities and goals in accordance to Your timing for our lives. Keep us in rhythm with Your clock and let us hear the alarm when it goes off. Make us aware of the seasons. Give us patience to wait and endurance to move forward. Your timing is perfect. Help us diligently share Your love and draw people to You with lovingkindness. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!
