HEAVEN'S GARDEN

Moving Into A New Season

Packing and getting ready to move has been a long process. I have moved many times in my life, but this is the first time that I am moving into a house that we won’t be renting! I am very excited and am looking forward to the new beginning that God is bringing us to. So as I pack, I am being very strategic. There are many things that I want to leave behind. If it were up to me, I think I would leave mostly everything and start new, but not only must I be led by God, I also have to use financial wisdom.

So it’s time to purge. What have I been holding on to that I don’t need anymore? What things have I kept that don’t function properly? Are there broken pieces that I intended to fix, but it’s really not worth the investment? Are there things that I’m holding that are keeping me from moving forward? Have I been placing value on things that really hold no value? Am I afraid to get rid of things because I’m afraid that I won’t be able to replace them? All of these questions can be evaluated in our spiritual lives while moving into our next season.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Sometimes we hold onto things that are associated with the old man. When we become a new creation, things that tie us to the sin of our past needs to be left behind.

What have we been doing that isn’t working for us anymore? God grows us and as He does, He will change the strategy that we need to use to get things done. What worked in our last season, may not work in our new season. When Jesus walked the earth, He was very strategic how He went about His ministry. There was no religious formula. He only did what He saw the Father doing. We can’t get stuck in a comfortable ritual. We have to continuously ask God what He is doing and manifest It on earth as it is in heaven.

John 5:19
Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.

Sometimes there are broken pieces that are not worth the investment to repair. Sometimes we just need to start over. We can’t redo the past, but God can create in us a new heart. When we repent and pray for strategy, we have an opportunity to start with a pure spirit.

Ezekiel 36:26
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Psalm 51:10
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Sometimes God wants to bless us, but because we are holding on to the old, He can’t give us the new thing. We have to trust what He is asking us to do. We have to give up what He asks and follow Him. The rich young ruler followed all the commandments, but didn’t want to give anything up. He didn’t get to enter in to his next season.

Matthew 19:21
21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

Sometimes we value things that God doesn’t value. We should be known by our fruit and what we treasure will show the condition of our heart. We must come into alignment to what God values to have success and good fruit in every season.

Matthew 6:21
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 12:35
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

Lastly, what am I afraid to let go of for the fear that it can’t be replaced? Sometimes a spirit of poverty will keep us from God’s riches. If God is pressing us to get rid of something, then we can be sure that He can replace it. There is nothing that God does not own.  He supplies are needs according to His riches in glory. Since all the glory belongs to Him we have access to everything that we need. When we put our trust in God and we have the fear of the Lord, He also says we shall not be in want. That we will taste and see that the Lord is good. Our new season requires us to trust God on a new level!

Philippians 4:19
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Psalm 34:8-9
8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
9 Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints!
There is no want to those who fear Him.

So as we begin to go into our new season, let us only take what is required. Let’s get rid of everything that is no longer of use and receive the blessing that God has waiting for us. Let us go forth boldly, knowing that God is with us and for us. He has prepared for us a new place. He wants to dwell with us there. Let’s make room!

Father, we thank You that you are a God of promotion. We thank You that You take us from glory to glory. Lord, forgive us for not cleaning out our souls and preparing our spirits for our next season. Show us everything that we need to keep and everything that is no longer useful. Help us stay in Your perfect will and receive ever blessing that You want to release in this season of our lives. We trust You and want You to give us strategy and instructions that will bring You glory as will walk in obedience. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Times Of Refreshing Are Being Released!

So many times in ministry, we start off with zeal and power feeling victorious and ready to conquer any obstacle that might keep us from our assignment. As time goes by we can get weary feeling drained, alone, and empty. It is important to get refreshed in order to finish the work that God has called us to do.

Philippians 1:5-6 (NKJV)
5 for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now,  6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

God wants to complete a work in us. In order for Him to do this we must keep fellowship not only with the gospel itself but in the gospel too. We need friends in the gospel that will pray for us and encourage us on our journey.

Romans 15:32
that I may come to you with joy by the will of God, and may be refreshed together with you

Sometimes we need to take a break from our assignment and return to our friends to be refreshed together. Here the author was tired and was asking his people to pray for his return to them to leave the unbelievers because it was draining his spirit. He needed a refreshing!

1 Corinthians 16:18
For they refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore acknowledge such men.

Sometimes God will send people to where you are at in order to bring you a refreshing. When God sends his messengers, He wants us to place honor on them realizing the value of the refreshing that they bring.

Psalm 63:1-3 (NKJV)
Joy in the Fellowship of God
A Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah.
63 O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.
2 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,
To see Your power and Your glory.
3 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.

When we feel dry. We must seek the Lord. There is joy in His fellowship and those who are thirsty, He will satisfy. It is important to remember God and praise Him. He will be sure to release His lovingkindness, power, and glory.

1 Samuel 16:23
And so it was, whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would take a harp and play it with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and well, and the distressing spirit would depart from him.

We can’t forsake the importance of worship. Worship brings intimacy, deliverance, and refreshing. If we get too busy in works without taking the proper time to worship, we will surely find ourselves weary.

Acts 3:19
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

We have to actively evaluate our motives and our heart condition. We must let God search our hearts, expose our flesh, and bring conviction. When we repent, God’s presence comes and brings refreshing.

Judges 19:5
Then it came to pass on the fourth day that they arose early in the morning, and he stood to depart; but the young woman’s father said to his son-in-law, “Refresh your heart with a morsel of bread, and afterward go your way.”

We can’t forget to take care of our physical bodies either. Sometimes we get so busy that we forget to eat properly. When we do it, we often do it alone. Here it says that eating/breaking bread together will refresh our hearts.

It is important to remember Who we are doing it all for anyway. God’s glory should be at the center. We sometimes lose focus because of our tiredness and forget that we are not in it for ourselves. God wants us to fulfill our purpose to make His name great. It’s not about us!

Proverbs 11:25
The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.

God promises that He will water us if we generously water others. He says that our souls will be made rich! So I want to encourage you today that your work is not in vain. There is a great reward for your faithfulness and God wants to refresh You in His presence. Come to Him today and ask what is hindering your refreshing. Not only will He show You, but He will be faithful in fulfilling what He has promised! God is with you and for you. Don’t give up. Times of refreshing are being released!

Father, we thank You that You never leave us. Forgive us for sometimes feeling empty and too tired to finish the work that You have called us to. Show us how to stay refreshed in Your presence. Give us balance and the joy of fellowship with people who will pray and be an encouragement to our souls. Help us find time for worship that brings us into intimacy with You. Let us remember to praise You in ever season. Let the joy of the Lord be our strength. Help us be open to receive refreshing when you send it and also know when it’s time to step away to receive it. We want to be finishers that make Your name great and give You glory in everything that we do. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!
