God Made You Great

Is your promise from God too big for others to understand? Does the dream in your heart seem bigger than you? Does the vision for your future almost seem unattainable? Good! Our God is not a God that settles for average because other people don’t understand His greatness. God has given each one of us a plan and a purpose that is too big for us to attain by ourselves, but is possible only by His strength and power. There will always be people around you to say that you can’t do it, it’s never been done before, it’s just not a good idea, etc. We have to put our trust in God and ignore the naysayers. Sometimes, we have to be very strategic about who we share our promises to. Everyone cannot handle the greatness that God put inside of you for your assignment. They might only see you as average or be looking at your weaknesses, but God see’s the greatness of what He has put inside of you and your willingness to listen and obey His instruction. He see you moving by the power of the Holy Spirit that’s within you. People didn’t believe that there was a need for the ark that Noah was building. Pharaoh didn’t believe that God would deliver His people, but He parted the sea. The Israelites didn’t believe that they could defeat the giants in their promise land, but Caleb and Joshua never lost hope. Jesus could only perform little miracles in His own town because they saw Him only as the carpenter’s son. It does not matter the opposition that you face if it is God that has promised you. What He has started in you, He will be sure to complete. Surrender your dreams to Him. Let the Holy Spirit give you power and direction, and put your faith in God not man. The result will be the manifestation of God’s promise to you!

Ephesians3:20

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

The power that works in us is the Holy Spirit that guides us into all truth. Stir your faith and God will resurrect those dreams that have been quenched by the words and discouragement of others. You were created for greatness for the Glory of God. Let your passion arise and do what God has called you to do. If you’re not sure, pray and He will reveal it to you.

Father, we thank you that you are a God that takes pleasure in our prosperity. We want to be great so that we can make Your name great. Forgive us for trusting the words of man and not putting our trust in You. Help us move by Your Spirit and not get discouraged by people that can’t understand the promise that You have given us. Resurrect or dreams and stir up our faith, gifts and callings. Show us

Your promise for our lives through Your eyes. Help us move by Your power and strength. We trust you and honor the purpose that You have placed on our lives. We give You glory and bless Your Holy name. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

A New Encounter

Are you looking for an encounter with God? Are you seeking His presence? God eyes are always on us.  There is no place we can go that can hide us from Him. Yet, he can “feel” like He is so far away sometimes. We can’t base our relationship with Him on our feelings. Our faith is what pleases God. We must trust that He is there even when we “feel alone”. With that being said, there are times when we encounter God and know He is there because we “feel” His presence.

1 John 4:19

We love him, because he first loved us

As I reflect on times where I really feel His presence, there is a pattern that helps me to enter in to that tangible place with Jesus. When I spend time reflecting on how much He loves me. That He died just for me. He found me when I was lost and rescued me from shame, guilt, and condemnation. He delivered me from the sin that was holding me captive and healed my wounds. He has restored me, established me, and shown me my identity and purpose. This type of meditation brings me in awe of God. It brings me to repentance for things that I have come short in, and also a place of thanks giving. It brings me to a place where I can freely love on God because I know He loved me first, even before I felt worthy to be loved by Him. When you know this kind of love, there is nothing that can separate you from it. You begin to feel His goodness and be refreshed. It is in this place where the voice of the Lord is made clear. He will bring you to His word and it will come alive in your heart. You will understand His thoughts toward you and give you hope to apply them to your life. We are all designed by Him with a purpose. He wants to hear from us as much and even more than we want to hear from him. When we honor the relationship, it becomes more intimate.  God will trust you with His secrets if you form an intimate relationship with Him. We all can hear from God, but are you listening? We all are loved by God, but are you loving Him back? Are you acknowledging His presence and thanking Him for His grace and mercy toward you? Are you repenting when you get it wrong? God wants to encounter you in a new way. Love on Him today with all of your heart, not just your lips. Believe He wants to commune with you. Wait in His presence and expect a life changing encounter!

Father, we thank you for your awesome love. We know that you are always with us, but want to feel your presence and encounter You in new ways.  Forgive us for sometimes forgetting what you have already done in our lives. Make us more aware of your voice and learn to listen and obey Your instructions. Keep us in Your perfect will and draw closer to us as we draw closer to You. Let Your love be evident in everything that we do so that others may be also drawn closer to Your love. We love You and grow in great expectation of the new thing that You are doing in our lives. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

It Doesn't End Wrong

Do you ever wonder why in certain areas in your life things just seem to fall apart no matter how much you try to hold them together? Maybe you have heard the saying that things don’t end wrong, they start off wrong. This saying is very true. Even if you are a believer, you might be having issues keeping things together.  Jesus is our rock. We must be mindful to build every area of our life on His firm foundation. I’ve seen so many times people who keep God in church, but won’t apply Him to their business/work. They try to have a personal relationship by prayer but won’t let Him into their marriages or parenting. We often like to keep God in a box and limit Him to areas where we think He will be most useful. This is not how God has intended to have a relationship with us. He wants us to build every area of our lives on top of the fullness of the cross and the victory that we already have through Christ Jesus. He is concerned about every area of our lives and wants to bless us, but we must let Him in first. When we hear God’s word but don’t do it in certain areas, those areas will certainly fall apart when trouble comes.

Luke 6:48-49 (KJV)

48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Not only do things immediately fall apart, but the damage is great. It is hard to recover when great damage hits our house. The good news is that it is not too late. You can go to God and repent for not given Him everything. Ask Him to be your rock and firm foundation in everything that you do. Then begin to build those areas according to the word of God. Trouble will surely still come, but when it does, you will not be shaken. God will protect you and keep you safe. He will save and deliver you.

Psalm 18:2

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

You can trust that God will work all things out for your good because you have surrendered it all to Him.

Isaiah 28:16 (AMP)

16 Therefore thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am laying in Zion for a foundation a Stone, a tested Stone, a precious Cornerstone of sure foundation; he who believes (trusts in, relies on, and adheres to that Stone) will not be ashamed or give way or hasten away [in sudden panic].

Jesus is a sure foundation. Everything that is built on Him will last. You might still be thinking that it’s too late. You have already built an empire on a false foundation. I am here to tell you that once you repent, God gives you clean slate. A chance to make things right. He won’t hold your past against you and he will redeem the time. The fruit of your labor will be sweet and will be worthy for the generations to come.

Read 1 Corinthians 3

Father, we thank You for giving us a sure foundation. We are thankful that your mercy gives us a chance rebuild by your strength and wisdom. Help us search out Your word to gain understanding on how to build for the generations. Forgive us for putting You in a box and not trusting You with everything. Today we give it all to You. Come in and restructure our lives and place us on the rock that is our Lord Jesus Christ. We will not be put to shame because we trust in You. We give You all the glory. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

You Have Power To Change Your Situation!

7/6/2015

Our tongues are a very powerful weapon. It can create peace and comfort or conflict and torment. Did your mother ever tell you, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”? This is actually very wise advice. Everything that we do and say in this world causes a reaction in two different realms, the seen and the unseen. There is a natural and supernatural realm that coexist and react to everything we do. There is a consequence for every action whether we see it or not. Imagine the supernatural as a world with angels and demons living together just as believers and nonbelievers live together on the earth. Every time you agree with God’s word about a situation, you give the angels power to move on your behalf. Every time you speak in agreement to negativity or what the world says, you give the demons power to move on your behalf. If you knew that everything that you said would be spoken into existence, would you change what you say. Well, thank God that all the horrible things that we speak doesn’t just appear before us in an instance, but it does hinder us from our blessing and overtime will happen right before our eyes. In the same way, when we speak continual blessing over ourselves we watch it happen as well. Just as God spoke the world into existence, He has given us power to create the atmosphere around us. By faith and power of the Holy Spirit you can have what you say when it is in alignment with God’s word! Let’s commit to change the how we speak and watch God move on our behalf!

Romans 4:17 (KJV)

(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Romans 4:17-18 (MSG)

17-18 We call Abraham “father” not because he got God’s attention by living like a saint, but because God made something out of Abraham when he was a nobody. Isn’t that what we’ve always read in Scripture, God saying to Abraham, “I set you up as father of many peoples”? Abraham was first named “father” and then became a father because he dared to trust God to do what only God could do: raise the dead to life, with a word make something out of nothing. When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn’t do but on what God said he would do. And so he was made father of a multitude of peoples. God himself said to him, “You’re going to have a big family, Abraham!”

Father, we thank You for the creative power that You have given us. Give us more faith to believe for every promise that we have been given through Your word. Help us guard our tongues and be slow to speak. Give us the right words to activate our angels to move on our behalf. Forgive us for giving power to the enemy by speaking negatively about ourselves and situations. Convict our hearts every time we begin to speak in a way that is not pleasing to You. We thank You for Your grace and mercy that gives us an opportunity to do better. We bless You and give You glory. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!
