We Need.......

God is always speaking. He speaks in our hearts. He speaks through our circumstances, and He speaks through things that we see around us. He speaks through everything! How do we know what He is saying? The only way to know and understand the voice of God is by His Spirit.

1 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV)

14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Many people are afraid of the Holy Spirit. They make it complicated and spooky. It is neither of those things. This thought process is the trick of the enemy to try to keep people from reaching their full purpose by shutting down the voice of God that brings understanding and direction in their lives.

Luke 3:22

And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”

When we get filled with the Holy Spirit it always comes with God’s voice. God placed His Spirit upon the prophets of the Old Testament to carry His voice. Now, as the Spirit came upon Jesus while getting baptized came with God’s voice, we also have access to His voice when get filled with the Holy Spirit.

John 14:26

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

The Holy Spirit will not only help us understand spiritual things, but will teach and help us remember God’s Word. We can then use it to fulfill our purpose and have victory over the enemy. He will fill our minds with thoughts (revelation) to help us throughout our journey through life.

Mark 13:11

But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit will give us the right words to say at the right moment. When we are connected to the Holy Spirit, we don’t have to worry in times of trouble about what we are to say. Our words will bring peace and deliverance. The Holy Spirit will always speak truth.

Acts 7:55

But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God,

If we want to see on earth as it is in heaven, then we need the Spirit of God to show us what that looks like. The Holy Spirit gives us access to see the glory of God! In return we can pray more effectively and see better results in our lives.

Romans 5:5

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Romans 14:17

for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

God pours His love in us through the Holy Spirit. God loves us all, but when we have His Spirit, we experience it in our hearts and have hope that the world cannot have without it. His Spirit brings us righteousness, peace and joy. Even when all things around us are in turmoil, we can enjoy these gifts. They belong to us and are strong weapons against the devil’s tactics.

Romans 15:13

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit gives us power. We can be overflowed with hope in a hopeless world and in what seems to be hopeless situations. The Spirit will lead us into right decisions and make us more aware of what is going on around us. When we listen to the Holy Spirit, He will bring understanding and direction to keep us on the right path and save us from our mistakes or even get out of them when we mess up. There is no weird ritual that we need to go through to receive the Holy Spirit and all of His benefits.

Luke 11:13

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

All we need to do is ask to be filled. God wants us all to experience His fullness. Everything that Jesus died for is available to us. Everything He left us including complete victory, healing, deliverance, authority, dominion, and restoration of fellowship with our Father God. This all happens through our communion with the Holy Spirit. The Spirit speaks to us, we go through Jesus in prayer and it is heard by our Father in heaven and He answers. We need His Spirit to live the life we are purposed for. Without it we lack the understanding that we need to fulfill our assignments and live abundantly. We gain supernatural wisdom, a knowing in our heart on how to make decisions. We see through God’s eyes and have a greater perspective on what to do next. We have inside strategy on how to do everything. God will get glory from our lives when we are operating them by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Father, we thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Forgive us for thinking we can do things in our own strength without the help of the power that the Holy Spirit gives us. We ask that You fill us with Your Holy Spirit now and pour Your love in our hearts. Give us awareness of how to be led by the Spirit. We want to know Him as friend and fellowship with Him continuously. Help us recognize when the Holy Spirit is moving and teach us how to respond. We want to experience Your fullness so that our lives can give You glory. Help us know our purpose by the leading of Your Spirit. Activate the gifts inside of us by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Make us one with You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Jesus At The Center

Jesus at the center of it all. What does that really look like? I began to set my heart on this while worshipping during church on Sunday. I visualized the Holy Spirit stirring a fire within me. I know the Holy Spirit lives inside of me, but I wanted to see what Jesus looks like living within me. I saw Jesus enter inside of me as a man. As I stretched my arms out wide in worship, He stretched out inside of me. His form quickly changed into a wooden cross. In full surrender, worshipping God, the fullness of the cross was inside of me.

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Jesus at the center means that we must be crucified with Christ. All of our flesh nailed to the cross believing in faith that Jesus died to take all of our burdens, all of our sicknesses, all of our issues, and everything that concerns us. He wants to perfect them and make us perfect in wholeness. We can’t just give Him what we perceive as problems. We must give Him everything, withholding nothing so that we may reflect His image.

Colossians 1:26-28 (NKJV)

26 the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which[a] is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

Christ is in us and we are in Him. Christ in us reveals mysteries, and gives us wisdom to know the riches of His glory. He is rich in everything and we have direct access to it through Jesus!

Ephesians 1:17-19New King James Version (NKJV)

17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding[a] being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power

Through Him in us we know His glory. It is our inheritance. We also know His power working through and for us. This is the fullness of the cross. Once we accept Him and know Him as Lord, through surrender, repentance, prayer, and faith we have access to the tree of life. We must know He is inside of us.

Colossians 1:15-17New King James Version (NKJV)

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

God is the beginning and the end. Everything belongs to Him, including us. We were created for His glory and He wants to share the riches of it with us.

Colossians 1:19-21New King James Version (NKJV)

Reconciled in Christ

19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled

It doesn’t matter who you are or what you have done. We all can have peace because of the fullness of the cross. We all have done wicked works and separated ourselves from God because of our sin. There is no sin that the blood of Jesus can’t cover. If you bring it to God with repentance, He will surely forgive and make you whole. Make Him your center.

Father, we thank you that Jesus Christ lives in us. That through Him, we have access to wisdom, peace, and all the riches of Your glory which is our inheritance. Our hope is in You Lord. Today we make You the center of or lives. Forgive us for only given You the pieces that we don’t like. Today we give You everything so that You may perfect us through the fullness of the cross. We want to be made perfect in You, whole and complete. We set our hope in you and seek Your wisdom to unlock the mysteries for our personal journey. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Gems, Coins, Clues, and Doors

Life brings us on many paths as we navigate towards our goals. Sometimes, we can’t understand the path that we are on and get frustrated in the process. We must always remember that God uses all of our experiences and works things out for our good when we love Him. As I am thinking about my own life journey, I am reminded of how most video games work. Usually, there is a character with a specific goal. They must go through many obstacles and setbacks in order to reach the end. Along the way, they pick up gems, coins, and clues. They also unlock doors by going down certain paths. These paths that are chosen aren’t always the fastest or closest to the end result, but by going to these extra places they often receive these treasures that I have mentioned. In many cases the character fails, but is given an extra chance to start out from the level that they were already on. Now, the player can navigate a different path to avoid making the same mistake. Does any of this sound familiar? Many people have mastered video game strategy. How many people have mastered the strategy of life? God has given us strategy and advantage as believers by given us the Holy Spirit.

John 16:12-14 (NKJV)

12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.

The Holy Spirit guides us into truth. He speaks to us through the authority of Jesus. He takes what Jesus has and gives it to us for His glory. He reveals what is ahead of us so that we may be prepared. It is important to ask the Holy Spirit for guidance as we move on our path. He will show us the gems(wisdom) and coins(resources) that we need to pick up along the way and what we are to use them for. Our obedience will give us clues(strategy) and unlock doors that will get us to the next level.

John 14:26 (NKJV)

26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

As we go on our journey, the Spirit will help us by teaching us along the way and reminding us of what we have already learned. The awesome thing is that God is so loving and forgiving that even when we fail, by His mercy, he lets us have another chance. Even in the worst situations, God will not only deliver, but also give us gems of wisdom to use for later and distribute to those who need them.

Luke 11:13

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Romans 8:14 (KJV)

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

God is our Father and we are His children. He knows how to give good gifts. He wants us all to be filled with the Holy Spirit so that we achieve the highest ranking score and have the largest treasure full of gems. Our strategy should exceed those who do not follow Jesus. These gems will help us perceive what is going on in other people’s hearts by the Holy Spirit.

Mark 2:8

And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

This is not only for our own warning and guidance, but it will help us use our experiences to minister to others. When we can perceive what is going on in the hearts of people, we can pray with compassion and help bring deliverance to the areas that are broken, sick, and bound in their hearts.

Luke 4:18

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Everything we go through is ultimately for the glory of God. He will use our experiences to bless others. He will give us what we need along the way, but we must keep moving. We can’t get stuck by the setbacks of life. We need to ask the Holy Spirit what we can learn from them and how to move forward. He will always lead us into truth which is Victory in Christ Jesus!

Father, we thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. We ask that You fill us with the Holy Spirit that we may experience the fullness of the cross and victory in Christ Jesus. Forgive us for blindly walking in our own strength. Help us lean on the Spirit that we may be led into truth. Show us the gems that we are to pick up along the way. Show us the paths that will unlock new doors. Help us choose the paths that will take us to our next level. Let our perceptions be filtered by Your Spirit so that we can pray and minister according to Your will. We want our lives to give You glory. Help us be strategic in how we live and become excellent at what you have called us to. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Do You Need New Friends?

9/7/2015

Friends are a valuable treasure that cannot be measured with monetary wealth. I have very few people that I would consider close friends, but the ones that I do have keep me sane, balanced, and thankful. Most times, while God is growing you into the person and purpose that He has called you to be, He will separate you from the people that you would once consider a friend. Letting go of these connections can be hurtful but necessary for God to cleanse you and renew your mind and spirit into alignment with Him. He needs to cleanse your soul of its sinful habits and patterns that will get you off track and out of the will of God.

1 Corinthians 15:33

Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”

If you try to keep the same friends that you were sinning with, and they are still behaving the same, it is easy for them to corrupt the change that is taking place in your heart. When you are ready, God may open the door again for you to go back and minister to them and be an example of God’s transforming love. If you go too early either you may fall or they may become offended.

This season can be a very lonely and confusing place. We are relational beings and desire the encouragement, affirmation, and joy that come from friendships. It is so important not to get stuck in this season of separation. God doesn’t want us to be alone. He has friends (divine connections) that he has called to sharpen us in our new season. He will place people in our lives with similar gifts and talents to help grow one another in the Lord.

Proverbs 27:17 (NKJV)

As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

Friendship is a beautiful thing when you can see the fruit of the relationship and watch one another grow. So how do you make new friends? Well, a lot of times God will send people to be friends in our lives that we may have never normally even considered communicating with. We need to be open and friendly.

Proverbs 18:24 (NKJV)

24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly,[a]
But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

When we are friendly to others, it opens up doors of opportunity to start a relationship that God can use to bless us. God will use these very people to have your back when even your family has abandoned you. A friend will love you through your bad times, even when you have made mistakes.

Proverbs 17:17 (AMP)

17 A friend loves at all times, and is born, as is a brother, for adversity.

A true friend will give you wise council based on the truth of the word of God. They will correct you in love and you will be able to rejoice in the compassion that comes from your friendship.

Proverbs 27:9 (AMP)

9 Oil and perfume rejoice the heart; so does the sweetness of a friend’s counsel that comes from the heart.

Most importantly, when we feel no one else understands or is there in our time of need, we must know that God is there for us. As believers in God, we have access to His friendship. He wants us to come to him and share our deepest concerns, most exciting dreams, and intimate desires with Him. After all, He is the one who has given them to us and has the power to release the very thing that we need to see it happen!

James 2:23 (AMP)

23 And [so] the Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed in (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on) God, and this was accounted to him as righteousness (as conformity to God’s will in thought and deed), and he was called God’s friend.

When we become friends with God, it is so much easier to be a good friend to others. He will give us wisdom, love, and the right words to say for every situation and make us compassionate and understanding where we once were cold.

Father, we thank You for friendship. Forgive us for holding on to friendships that are not good for us. Give us the strength to separate from those that are corrupting our good habits. Help us be open to the new relationships that you place on our path. We want to be sharpened like iron in the presence of our friends. Perfect us in our purpose and gifts so that we may be a testimony and example for those who once knew us in our sin. Help us connect with those that You have called us to, but most importantly help us connect with You. We know You as Father, but want to also know You as friend. We want to tell You everything and hear what You have to say about every situation. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!
