World Changers Arise

Romans 5:8 (NKJV)

8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:6-8 (MSG)

6-8 Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn’t, and doesn’t, wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn’t been so weak, we wouldn’t have known what to do anyway. We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him

Jesus died for all of us! He wishes that no soul shall perish. He loves us so much, that even if you were the last one left on earth, He still would of took the punishment of the cross. Everything that is going on in our world’s system and age has not taken Jesus by surprise.  As Christians we should have a righteous indignation rise in us that causes us to hit the streets and spread the gospel. Jesus wants the souls of the lost. He wants their hearts. He wants to use us to share His truth and His love.

John 3:17

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

I remember when I first got saved. I was lost, depressed, confused, and a functional alcoholic. I used to sit in my garage drinking my strong drink, smoking my cigarettes, telling my friend about Jesus and what He was doing in my life. Now, I see that as a terrible mess, but then it was the beginning of a beautiful relationship where God was coming in as a deliverer to strip me of my sin, free me from my prison, and heal me from my hurts. It has been a process. God still gently shows me areas that need adjusting.  He is a merciful Father and is patient and compassionate towards us. It is time to release His character into the world and stand strong on His Word. We have to give nonbelievers a choice. We must share the truth in love and take the time to demonstrate how to walk through the process. Just as God transformed us, there is still hope for this generation. We must stand in the gap by prayer and declaration. We must repent and cry out to God that He might heal our land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

God says that we still have ways that are wicked as people who are called. We have to show the world that the church is different from them and has benefits beyond the desires that they crave. We must show the world with our actions not just tell them with our mouths. We have to actually be who we say we are. We are world changers and God is waiting on us to act. There are people waiting on us.

Romans 8:19 (AMP)

19 For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship].

Father, we thank You that You saved us yet while we were still sinners. Help us show the same grace and mercy towards the still lost. Forgive us for not showing your character. Help us be patient and kind, yet bold and courageous to share Your truth in love. Make us world changers. Your government supersedes the government of this world. We have faith to believe that you will turn all things around for our good. We ask You to use us as vessels that carry Your word and Your fire. Help us set the world systems a blaze by Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Temptation Comes

6/22/2015

Many people fall into the trap of believing that if they are still tempted to sin then they are not delivered. This is a trick of the enemy to cause them to give up. The devil only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. He wants to steal our identity, kill our faith, and destroy our purpose. He tries to do this by making us fall with the many temptations we face on a daily basis. We must guard our deliverance closely. The area where we have been delivered is vulnerable. The devil will always come to tempt us when we’re weak. No one is exempt from temptation. Jesus himself was tempted to sin.

Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

The key is to fight the enemy by submitting to God, declaring God’s word and resisting the temptation so that the devil will go away.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

The devil will always make the temptation look real good, promising all the things you desire if you just follow him. He is a liar! When Jesus was in the wilderness for forty days after being baptized, everything that the devil tempted Him with, God had already promised Him. The question is are you willing to wait on God to see the promise fulfilled, or are you going to settle for the counterfeit that will ultimately derail your purpose. Trust me, I know waiting is hard when you’re bubbling with anticipation for your blessing, but a counterfeit blessing is just as good as counterfeit cash. It holds no value and will eventually cause you to be put in jail (held captive) by the enemy! Waiting on God = freedom, joy, and peace. Nothing is better than resting in God’s will for your life. So whatever your temptation is, stand firm on your deliverance, fight with your sword of the spirit which is the word of God, and trust that GOD WILL FULFILL His promises in His perfect timing!

Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak

Be aware of when the enemy comes and what he is doing, pray without ceasing, and fast when God calls you to. It might be impossible in your own strength, but with God, all things are possible!

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it

Father, we thank you that Your word provides us with every strategy that we need to fight the devil. Help us to seek your word in everything we do so we might live the abundant life that you have promised us. Make us aware of the counterfeit and give us Your words to fight with. Show us our way of escape when we are tempted. We submit to You, give us strength to resist the devil so that he has to flee. We guard our deliverance and stand firm in our faith knowing that You are a God that fulfills every promise. Forgive us for when we have fallen short. We thank You for Your mercy. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Hidden Baggage

Recently while my daughter was looking for a piece of clothing in her room, she came to me and said that she had lost what she was looking for. I thought this was strange because she hadn’t left the house with it. How do you “lose” something in your room? Her room appeared to be clean. When I tell her to clean her room, I check it and it looks fine. Clothes just don’t get up and walk away! After further investigation, I realized that her room was like a black hole that was swallowing all of her things. Instead of actually putting away her things to clean her room, she was putting everything in bags and hiding them. Things that didn’t even go together like a hairbrush, shoe, empty water bottle and a shirt, would be in one bag. Who does this? As I began to think deeper, I realized that this is what many people look like. Clean and well kept on the outside with the appearance of having it all together and being happy. But on the inside everything is tucked away in their personal baggage hidden from others to see. Sometimes the stuff doesn’t go together or make sense. It is categorized by their hurts and disappointments based on the perceptions of their own experiences. Their hurts are so well hidden in their souls that when they respond badly to something, they can’t even find the root of the issue. They are hiding behind walls and masks so that other people won’t judge them and think that they are weak. But eventually those bags will overflow causing a breakdown in the whole system that was created. People get sick and mentally snap from keeping things hidden too deep and too long. God wants our souls to be free. We don’t have to hide are weakness from him. He wants to be our strength in those areas.

2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

When we give it to God, He can perfect those things with His strength. What good is a beautiful, well landscaped house if everything on the inside is broken and not working properly? Jesus wants to come in and fix your electric and plumbing! He wants to repair the flood damage and rewire the wires that have been causing fires. Nothing is too hidden from God and no repair is too big. It is never too late. When we surrender it all to God, it gives Him the working permit that He needs to do the work. He won’t come in without permission. Saying yes to Him is like winning that dream house makeover that you’ve always wanted. Our body, souls, and spirits need to be surrendered to Him so that He can align them with His word and we can see all the benefits of the cross.

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

God wants to clean our hearts out and renew us! Victory is ours, deliverance is ours, healing is ours, but we need to empty out our bags and let him throw out the garbage and organize the things that are out of place.

Father, we thank You that You are our deliverer. That Your desire is to clean us and make us whole. We surrender all those hidden hurts to You and ask You to come in and make us new. Align our perceptions with Your word. Help us not filter things through our hurts but through Your love. Free us from the baggage that has been causing us to not function properly. We want to be clean from the inside out. Get rid of our walls and masks. Beautify us with Your Glory. Forgive us for hoarding our hurts and causing unforgiveness to build up in our hearts. Show us how to give everything to you so that we may respond properly to every situation. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Connected To The Vine

6/8/2015

We are all connected to something. The question is, what and who are we connected to? The Word says that Jesus is the vine that we should be connected to.

Jonn 15:4-5 4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

We need a vine to become branches that produce fruit.  We all have a desire to increase, multiply and see the fruits of our labor. The word also tells us we will be known by our fruit and that a good tree produces good fruit and a bad tree produces bad fruit. You can only bare the kind of fruit according to your own kind. We should be rooted and grounded in the love of our vine Jesus! When we get saved, sometimes it is hard to disconnect ourselves from our previous vine of sin. We still see fruits of anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, and more because we are afraid to disconnect from that old vine. God with His everlasting love and mercy is patient with us, but His desire is to see us fully connected to Him so that we may bring forth MUCH FRUIT! Even when we are connected to Him, it is our jobs to maintain our gardens.

Song of Solomon 2:15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

The enemy will send foxes of temptation that will try to get us to reconnect with that old pitiful vine, but we can resist the enemy and he will flee. We have to stay strong in faith and saturated in God’s word because the shield of faith quenches the fiery darts of the enemy and the Word of God is the sword of the spirit. God has equipped us to withstand the evils of this world, but we can’t be lazy.  We need to do our part.

Being connected to a sinful vine will only produce bitter fruit.

Deuteronomy 32:28-32 28For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.

29O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

30How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?

31For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

32For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:

We want our fruit to be sweet and satisfying not bitter and disappointing. I challenge you to check the fruit you are producing. Are there any areas that are producing bitter fruit? Examine yourself and ask God to show you the foxes. Are there places that are still connected to a vine of sin causing bitter fruit to spring forth? If so, it’s not too late to disconnect and reconnect to the vine that will make you a branch that produces the sweetest fruit that you will ever taste.

Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Father, we thank You for Your word that instructs us into a life of fullness. Help us search out Your word that we may become the people that You have designed us to be. Help us to fully connect to the vine of Jesus and totally disconnect with the vine of the enemy. Show us how to guard our gardens from the foxes that will try to come spoil our vine. Make us good trees that produce good fruit. We say that we trust You and want to taste and see that You are good. Forgive us for holding on to areas that have produced bad fruit. Give us strength and faith to cut those vines so You can heal us and replace bitterness with the sweetness of Your love. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

One Layer At A Time

6/1/2015

Imagine a helium balloon on a string that is weighted down so that it doesn’t fly away.  This is how we get sometimes in the spirit.  We get to a certain level where we are seeing above things, but we are tied down by some kind of weight that keeps us from reaching a higher level.  This is why deliverance should be an ongoing occurrence in our lives.  We have layers and layers of wrong systems, wrong patterns, wrong mindsets, wrong attitudes, and the list can go on and on.  We have to pick up our cross daily and work out our own soul salvation with fear and trembling.

God usually deals with us one layer at a time. As soon as we get comfortable and feel free, often times something else will come up and reveal another layer of something that God wants to deal with.  This is not to say we are being rebellious or disobedient, but to rather bring us to a new level of understanding.  God wants to bring us from faith to faith and glory to glory. The more we let God deal with our layers, the higher we can elevate because those weights are being released.  My desire is to become weightless. I want to be able to move in the supernatural in whatever direction the spirit of God blows.  This does not have to be all weird and “spooky”.  God wants it to be with us on earth as it is in heaven.  It’s as simple as giving it to God when He shows us, repenting, and growing into our next level by faith and obedience.

God’s grace is sufficient. We have a tendency to think “how am I going to do this”. The truth is that we can’t without God’s help.  We make it hard in our minds by the fear of what’s next, but God has already got a way laid out before us if we trust Him. Give God your next layer so that He may take you to your next level. Think of the wall you built in your heart when you were in sin.  When God delivered you, the wall came down.  Now you have all the stuff you put inside those walls to deal with.  For example, let’s say you have an issue with foul language.  The Lord convicts you and you give it to Him. You repent and now you don’t speak those words anymore, but you still think them.  Well, God will show you this next so that he may cleanse your mind. This may take work on your part, like refraining from watching certain shows that use that type of language, getting away from people who talk like that, reading your Word every time you have those thoughts, finding scriptures that come against your actions and what it says about the opposite.  Now the thoughts may be gone, but certain things make you feel a certain way and this was why you cursed in the first place. The root issue might have been anger causing you to curse, now God wants to deliver you from not only that, but why you are angry in the first place.

Do you see how there can be so many layers.  If God tried to show us these all at one time we’d probably be crazy for real.  Many times it took us lifetimes to develop these issues, but it doesn’t have to take us long to be delivered.  God can deal with us quickly if we surrender to Him, repent, and obey.  He wants us to be free so we may commune with Him weightlessly, soaring above the situations we face and seeing things from His perspective.

Matthew 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Father, we thank you for deliverance. We thank You that you have given us a way to be truly free from the burdens we carry. Father, show us our layers. Let us not be satisfied with surface level deliverance. Help us go deeper into our souls and get free of everything that isn’t in agreement with Your Word. Make us doers of Your Word and not just hearers only. We give You our walls and everything inside of them. Cleanse us and make us whole so we may walk in our purpose in purity. We thank You that Your mercy doesn’t condemn us but saves us and heals us. Restore our souls. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!
