Roots And Fruit

Now that harvest time is here, it is a good time to reflect and take inventory of our fruit. Our fruit will reveal what is working and what is not. It will confirm our productivity and if we are advancing our taking steps back.

Every tree stands based on its root. The root supports the branch which bears the fruit. The branch doesn’t support the root (Romans 11:18). What we are rooted in will determine the kind of fruit that we produce.

Matthew 3:10

And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

We do not want to be the tree that gets thrown into the fire. That is why it is critical to take an honest look at ourselves and make the proper adjustments. For example, if we have produced a fruit of bitterness, then somewhere there is root of unforgiveness. So many times we try to put Band-Aids on the symptoms instead of finding the root cause of all the trouble. It’s like continually taking medicine for a headache, without ever trying to find out the reason why we are having them. The root could be that we need glasses, have allergies, or not getting the proper sleep. If we never seek the root cause, eventually the real issue could get worse, causing more problems. The medicine that we take could be damaging our liver and kidneys, while the real problem continues to increase without our knowledge because we are masking the symptoms.

Most times we don’t want to evaluate the real issue because it seems impossible to deal with. Our hurt and pain have put mountains before us. We would rather take the long way around the mountain than digging into it to conquer.

Job 28:9

He puts his hand on the flint; He overturns the mountains at the roots.

God has given us the ability to overturn mountains at its roots. Not only that, we will find precious gems and gold as we conquer our mountains. Our mountains are removed by our faith and obedience. We have to let God work new levels of faith in us so that we can move those mountains and move our trees to a new place. We must get past the issues of our past that have caused us stagnation. God is bigger than any abuse, neglect, rejection, abandonment, trauma, shame, etc. that we have experienced. He is bigger than the voice of the enemy that has planted roots of evil that have caused us to fall out of agreement with what God has called us to be.

Luke 17:6

So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

If our roots are planted in a dry place, then we will never be able to produce the fruit that God wants to come from our trees. The water that we need comes from God’s Word and the river of the Holy Spirit that He has placed on the inside of us. If we deny those things, then our prosperity will be hindered.

Jeremiah 17:8

For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

When we are planted by the water, there is no need to worry or fear. We will always produce the fruit God intended when we are rooted in the water of His Word.

Colossians 2:6-10

6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it[
a] with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

When we are rooted in Christ, we become established. We can walk in His authority and faith. We can be thankful for His abundance and become whole. God completes us and because of this, we have power over every evil power that would try to come against us.

Ephesians 3:16-19

16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what
is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

When our roots are planted in love which is Christ, we are strengthened and filled with the fullness of God. This love will overpower any and every bad seed that tries to infiltrate our root system. When we are lacking love, we become weak. When we lack love, we produce fruit that is the opposite of God’s purpose.

It’s time to speak to our mountains. It’s the season to pull up our trees and plant them by the water. We need to cut out roots that are hindering our fruit and establish ourselves in faith and love. We have to be honest with ourselves and stop treating the symptoms without finding the cure. We have to address the issues of our past without fear, knowing that God will reveal the gems to keep and the lies to throw in the fire. We are complete and have access to the fullness of God through His love.

Father, we thank You that You are the root that supports us. Forgive us for allowing the enemy to come and intertwine evil roots that have produced rotten fruit or hindered our production of good fruit. Forgive us for treating the symptoms instead of seeking You for the cure. Search us and help us evaluate our fruit according to Your Word. Increase our faith to speak to our mountains and move our trees to a place where Your water flows. We want to prosper in ever season. We want to be rooted, established, and strengthened in Your love and faith. Let us be known by our fruit which is produced by Your love. Do it Lord, according to Your riches in glory. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Daniels Emerge!                                                                          (A Believer's Answer To Political Corruption)

9/19/2016

It’s time for the Daniels to emerge! Daniel was not only a prophet of the living God; he was also appointed by the king, chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon. Those that believe that Christians should stay away from politics should take time to read about Daniel, Joseph, Nehemiah, Deborah, and Esther. We need kingdom minded people to be influencers to our nations policies and culture. We need to be at all high levels of influence, if we want to make a change.

Although the King loved Daniel, the other governors disliked him.  They wanted him gone and tricked the king into making a law that would get Daniel in trouble because of His love of God. Wow, corruption in politics has been since the beginning! Sounds a lot like laws that are being established right now. Laws that get the ones who love God in trouble. The longer that I live the more I understand in Ecclesiastes where it says there is nothing new under the sun. The devil uses the same tricks over and over to devour the people of God.

1 Peter 5:8
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because[a] your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

The devil roams around looking, but if he can’t find anything in you to use as an attack. He has no case. Even when He tries, God is greater, He is bigger, and He is sure to deliver His people out of trouble.

So Daniel continued to pray to God in plain sight, even though the law forbids him to do so. Like always, Daniel loved God too much to conform to the governments evil ways. He made a choice to follow God’s laws over man. He was, of course, caught praying by the other governors. The king was forced to follow the law, and throw him into the lion’s den. The king fasted and couldn’t sleep because of this. He returned to the den in the morning with hope that the living God that Daniel serves would deliver him. He called out to Daniel and Daniel answered.

Daniel 6:22-23
22 My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you.” 23 Now the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God.

God is with those that are bold enough to stand up against the Babylonian system. God’s truth will always prevail over the wicked adversary. We believers must no longer be afraid of the laws of man, but fear God to the point of rejection of any wicked laws that would try to destroy us. We might be thrown in the den with the lions that want to open their mouths against us. They may slander, backbite, and try to devour, but if we stand strong in faith that God is our deliverer, He will not put us to shame. In fact, He will prove Himself through us. He will make the people in authority Fear Him and change the laws in His favor.

Daniel 6:26-27
26 I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel.
For He is the living God,
And steadfast forever;
His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed,
And His dominion shall endure to the end.
27 He delivers and rescues,
And He works signs and wonders
In heaven and on earth,
Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

Daniels, our examples of boldness will lead our nation back to the fear of the Lord. They will see that He works signs and wonders and realize that His kingdom cannot be destroyed.

It is time to resist the lie that we can’t take action. God is waiting on us to do something that will usher in His power that He may release His glory over us and the cities that we dwell. We can no longer be silent, passive, and afraid. We must emerge and take back dominion. We are the repairers of the breach. God is with us. What is God telling you to do that may seem to go against the world view system? Time to put a plan in action! God will make all the rulers of places of influence pay attention.

Father, we thank You that You are a deliverer. We thank You that Your character never changes and Your kingdom is everlasting. Forgive us for fearing man more than we fear You. Give us courage, boldness, and wisdom to take on the ruling wicked powers in places of influence. Put us in places of government. Let the prophets have Influence and access into the ears and hearts of kings. Let our voices have the life giving force of your breath. Help us speak life and expose all of the wicked doings in dark places. Prove Yourself through us and let all see how great is our God. Do it for Your glory. Let all the nations praise You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

New Day, New You!

9/12/2016

We are in a new day. A new day brings on new opportunities, new grace, new mercy, new revelation, and even new trials. God gives us the blessing of starting a new life, once we receive him as our Savior.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

When we are in Christ, we automatically have access to all of His attributes. The full work of the cross was finished for us to have power, authority, dominion, good health, prosperity, long life, eternal life, and freedom from all the works of the devil.

The problem is that even though these things belong to us, we hang on to the things that are now dead. Why do we keep the old things that have passed away? If something is dead, then it is useless. It can’t produce life. It can only stink, make mold, attract maggots, and so forth. Carrying the old things around is like carrying dead weight that slows us down. If we want to advance into the new things, we have to get rid of the dead weight of the old things.

Change is a beautiful thing when we are in Christ. If we resist change, then we can’t advance.
Advancing requires us to learn new tasks and do things differently. We can’t expect to keep doing the same things and get different results. We have to be flexible and be led by the spirit. If we are lazy, we will miss the new thing that God is doing. If we love God, then we are protected by the disasters that come up and are promised that God will work it out for our good. When we get stuck doing something the same way all the time and refuse to change, then we are doing it religiously. A spirit that resists change is a religious spirit. A religious spirit has knowledge (like the Pharisees), but lack the power that Jesus died so that we may have. He has called us to do greater works than Him. Jesus always did things out of the box. Not only did He change the way things were traditionally done, but even when He performed the same type of miracle, He did or said something different to get results. Instead of systematically saying the same prayer, He only did and spoke what He heard and saw the Father doing.  God will create change through us according to what the individual that we are ministering to needs, not through what we feel comfortable doing or saying. We have to have new eyes to see and new ears to hear every time we do something.

Isaiah 43:19
Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.

God wants to do amazing things for us and through us that we have never seen or experienced before. We cannot receive roads in the wilderness and rivers in the desert if our minds are closed to change. If we think things are impossible or too weird to be true, then we will not get to experience the new thing. The new thing will always be so extraordinary that it gives God all of the glory.

 Romans 12:2
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

We can’t take on the mind and limitations of the world. We have to take on the mind of Christ that transforms us to prove by the fruit that we produce from it, the perfect will of God. God will always prove Himself through us. Through the change that takes place in our lives, we magnify His image and glory. This is why when we trust in Him that He won’t put us to shame. It is for His glory. We are witnesses to the lost of the goodness of God.

New day. New eyes. New ears. New mindset. New you!
Change is not optional; it is a requirement. If we refuse change than God can’t transform us from in new levels of strength, faith and glory. We can’t enter into prosperity with a poverty mindset. We can’t enter into complete freedom with a slave mentality. We can’t enter into limitless possibilities if we are burdened by what seems to be impossible. We can’t enter into our purpose if we are holding on to the old things that have kept us from it.

It’s time to let it go. Let go of the yoke that has held you back. Get rid of the dead weight that has produced rotten results in your life. Your deliverance is in your willingness to change, to behold the new thing. Look and see the new path set before you. There is a water of refreshing waiting for you to drink. Clear your nostrils and smell the sweet aroma of change. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Listen, there is a trumpet of victory, and counsel by the spirit. See in heavenly places, there is a new perspective. Think with the mind of Christ. Transformation in your mind will lead to transformation in your circumstances.

Read Isaiah 58. God wants us to restore the streets that we dwell in. We are to be repairers of the breach. He wants us to shine in dark places. We must embrace the new thing. The world is longing for change. We are the ones that will bring it.

Father, we thank You that You are doing a new thing. Forgive us for being stubborn and religious. Forgive us for resisting change. Break us free from every old, dead thing that has held us back. Deliver us from the fear of change. Transform us and prove yourself through us. We want to be in Your perfect will. Give us eyes to see, ears to hear, and the courage to do what the spirit is showing us. We want to be a light in dark places. We want to repair the streets that we dwell in. we want to walk in the full power that Jesus died on the cross for us to have. We silence the enemy that would keep us from advancing and tread over him like the snake that he is. We will not be held back any longer. Today we advance into the new day. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!
