HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

I’d like to take this time to honor all that have served this country and those that have sacrificed themselves so that we can enjoy our freedom.

In a time where it seems that America is on a downward spiral into the depths of perversion and lawlessness, the truth is, America is still blessed. We still have a choice. Although there is a war on the Christian faith, we still have a right to worship, pray, and live according to the principles of our God.

So as we celebrate with our families eating good and fellowshipping, let’s not forget to pray for the families that have lost loved ones fighting for our freedom. Let’s also pray that they come to know the true freedom of being made free by Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

 John 15:13 (NKJV)
13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

Father, we thank You for blessing us with a choice to follow You. We honor Jesus for laying His life down for our freedom. We also place special honor today on those who sacrificed their lives so that we may continue to live freely in this blessed nation. Comfort the families who have experienced loss and be a Father to those who have lost a parent. Lord forgive us for complaining and cursing this country instead of repenting and crying out for You to heal our land. We want to live our lives so that all of America will see How great is our God! In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

What Would You Do?

Last night I had a dream that made me think about my prayer life. I was in an alley and there were three men involved in some type of crime. I jumped into my car to try to get away, but one of them was able to stop me. I ended up out of my car and was begging for mercy to the one man that was before me. As I was pleading for my life, the man fell to the ground and appeared to be crippling. He started mumbling about his medicine. I couldn’t really understand him and didn’t know where or what medicine he needed. I stopped trying to understand him, reach forward, and laid hands on him. I began to pray for his healing. I prayed that by my faith he would be made whole, set free, and delivered. As I was praying, his body started to uncripple and he rose to his feet with hands lifted praising God. He gave me a hug and was thanking me for my obedience.

When I woke up, I began to think about the situation as if it were real. “Would I really pray to save someone who was trying to kill me if I had an opportunity to get away?”

Matthew 5:43-45(NKJV)
Love Your Enemies
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy.’  44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,[b]  45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Hopefully we won’t ever be in this type of physical danger and have to make that type of decision, but the truth is people speak death over us all of the time. They speak death over our dreams, our purpose, our desires, and our identity. Whether we want to believe it or not there are people who are haters of our souls because of jealousy, bitterness, pride, unforgiveness, or some kind of offense. Sometimes they might not even know why they hate us, the devil just uses them because they haven’t experienced the real love of God.

How are we responding to these people? Are we praying for them? Are we loving them in spite of their actions? Are we blessing them? Are we showing them the same mercy that God shows us every morning?

Lamentations 3:22-23(NKJV)
22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.

God has compassion for us and knows that we will continue to make mistakes. He is faithful to give us a chance to repent and get it right over and over again. If God has forgiven us for all that we have come from, then how could we dare hold someone accountable for what they have done. We must leave that to God and pray for their deliverance. I am saved today because there were people praying for me. It took a long time for the fruit of their labor to manifest, but God brought the increase and I’m moving into my purpose and made new by the power of the Holy Spirit! Thank You Jesus for transformation, grace, mercy, and forgiveness!

Today, I challenge you to look at your lives and evaluate the people that seem to be against you. Take time to pray for them and commit yourself to show the love and mercy that God has shown you!

Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness. We thank You for Your compassion, love, and mercy. Forgive us for not praying for those who persecute us or blessing those who curse us. Give us your heart to reach out to those that are against us and help us reflect Your image in everything that we do. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Let Your Kingdom Come!

While worshipping yesterday there was a strong presence of the majesty of Jesus. He was there as King and Lord over all. As I closed my eyes and lifted my hands I saw an image of Jesus standing in front of His throne. He was dressed in royal garments His robe was red on the outside and purple on the inside. It was ordained with many jewels It was long and flowing. When He turned, the robed moved and a great wind blew causing a shift. He did this several times. Then I saw Him with His golden scepter also ordained with many jewels. He was pointing it towards His people. As I stood in awe of His sovereignty, I asked the Lord what does this mean?

He said that His kingdom can’t come to our lives in areas that we haven’t made Him King. He was pointing to those areas to expose them so that we could surrender them to His Lordship.

Matthew 6:10
Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

When we pray, we are to pray that God’s kingdom and His perfect will come in to our lives just as it is in the spirit. When we hold on to things by our own will and flesh, we are divided and against God’s will. Our prayers can’t be answered and these areas will remain desolate.

Matthew 12:25
But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.

When we surrender our will to the Lord, there should be no looking back. We have to put our total trust in Him believing that He will take care of the rest. We can’t move forward in His kingdom while we are looking back at the old.

Luke 9:61-62
61 And another also said, “Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house.”
62 But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

When we surrender every area to Christ, we become a new creation. We become who Jesus says we are instead of what the world has tried to define us as.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Jesus was born to be our King! He releases the truth into our lives and into every situation and circumstance. When we make Jesus our King, His kingdom comes as heaven on earth to supply all that is ours through our inheritance in Him. He is the witness of all truth. In Him we know the truth, therefore we can hear His voice. This gives us access to heavenly strategy to prosper in every area of our lives.

John 18:37
Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

Are there any areas in your life that you haven’t given to God? Are you trying to move forward, but have been stuck because you have been looking back? Are there any areas that you are divided against yourself by flesh and spirit? Take time to evaluate the areas in your life that aren’t prospering. Give them to the Lord and make Him King over them. Don’t look back! God is sure to speak and bring His kingdom to your life on earth as it is in heaven!

Father, we thank You for Your majesty. Forgive us for not making You King over every area in our lives. Expose the areas that we need to surrender and come in as King to reveal Your truth.  We trust You and want you to rule in our hearts. We don’t want to be divided against ourselves. We want to experience heaven on earth. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Don't Give Up!

Have you ever been instructed by God to do something and when you go to do it, it seems like all of hell is against you? Well, that’s because it is. The devil does not want to see you fulfill the plans of God. He will do everything in his power to discourage you, cause doubt, and make you think you’re crazy!  The blessing of the Lord makes us rich and He adds no sorrow to it (Proverbs 10:22). It’s getting to the blessing that is hard. It takes faith, perseverance, endurance, trust, and obedience. We grow in all of these areas and through our experience become rich in wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

Romans 5:1-5
Faith Triumphs in Trouble
5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have[a] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,  2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;  4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.  5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Transitioning into our new home has been one challenge after another. Our steps have been ordered by the Lord, but it hasn’t been easy. When we first started looking into buying our first home, we got involved with a program that was supposed to help us get all of our credit issues resolved and help us save for our closing costs and down payment. We made payments that totaled to almost $6000. They didn’t come through on their promise and basically stole our money. Despite this devastation, we pressed through and did everything required to be approved for a home. We looked at home after home with more discouragement. Either they were too expensive, too small, taxes too high, or the contract would fall through. We were looking in the wrong area. God had a specific region that He wanted us to go, but we were stuck on what we thought would be the best “fit” for our family (like we knew what would fit better than God….) We ended up purchasing a home just blocks away from the houses that I was looking at 6 years ago just before we got married. It’s like my spirit already knew where we would be! Even in finding our “perfect” home, we experienced setbacks with our loan officer, seller, and closing dates. We didn’t give up.

The closing went smoothly, but brought knowledge of unexpected fees to our mortgage that we weren’t informed of. This shot our payment up more than $300 than expected, putting all of our dreams of the new furniture we were going to finance on hold into a lay away plan. We didn’t give up.

When the closing date changed, we lost all of our help. My husband worked endless hours painting the entire house. A few were able to drop in after work to assist, but most schedules didn’t work with our new date. We didn’t give up.

On our move date most friends were working or out of town. It rained all day. I watched as my 15-year-old daughter and husband loaded the truck with our couches thinking, God why does everything have to be so hard! (Did I mention that I am 3 ½ months pregnant watching 3 toddlers and hadn’t had everything packed?) We didn’t give up!

Our move lasted until the next day. We were brought to tears from pure exhaustion, but as I sit here in my house still full of boxes and without my furniture, I AM RICH! God gave us this house. A place of peace and rest. A place of safety. A place where God’s presence dwells. A place where we belong and my children love.

James 1:2-4
Profiting from Trials
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,  3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.  4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

God wants to perfect us. He wants to get all the glory from our testimony. He doesn’t want us to lack anything. He gives us strength when man fails us and endurance to keep going. Your blessing will make you rich, but you can’t give up! I pray that you are encouraged to pursue what God has spoken. Don’t give up!

Galatians 6:9
9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Father, we thank You for never leaving us. Forgive us for giving up to easily and not trusting Your plans for our lives. Show us how to walk in faith, persevering through the trials that are ahead. Work patience in us and perfect our character. Help us not give up before the blessing comes. We trust You and want Your best! In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!
