Genesis 26:4 (NKJV)
4 And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed;
God is giving us the land because we are in Christ. It is our inheritance!
Galatians 3:29 (NKJV)
29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Moses sent the spies into the mountains at the time of their first ripe grape harvest. Caleb knowing and understanding the times and seasons knew that it was God’s “now” time to overcome the enemies of those mountains and enjoy the fruit of the land!
Numbers 13:30-33
30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”
The people lacked faith and made excuses. They were looking at their own strength instead of the strength of their mighty God. They forgot what God had promised and didn’t want to claim their inheritance, but Joshua believed in his promise.
Numbers 14:6-10
6 But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who wereamong those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; 7 and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. 8 If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’[a] 9 Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.”
10 And all the congregation said to stone them with stones. Now the glory of the Lord appeared in the tabernacle of meeting before all the children of Israel.
Joshua knew that the Lord would give what He had promised. How much more should we believe having the overcoming power of the blood of Jesus! God has called us to go face the enemy of our mountain now. Their time is up. The Lord is with us. We cannot fear the enemy. We cannot fear the opinions of men who don’t believe. Just as the peers of Caleb and Joshua wanted to have them stoned, there will be ones that we thought were for us that will turn quickly because of their own fear. We must not stay behind with them but boldly take possession of our promise and conquer the enemy of our mountain. It is our Inheritance. We must not rebel against the Lord. He is looking for our obedience and for us to move quickly when he says go at once. We will surely overcome! Where has God called you to? What is the enemy you face? I encourage you today to spy out the land and set your eyes on the fruit. Know what God has promised and recognize God’s timing. Abundance is our portion and God’s kingdom will be multiplied by our obedience. We are overcomers and worldchangers. There is nothing too hard for our God!
Father we thank You for the blessing of Abraham which is our inheritance. We ask for the Issachar anointing to know and understand the times and seasons. Forgive us for unbelief, fear, and rebellion. We set our hearts towards the promise and know that we will overcome the enemy because You are with us. Give us eyes to see by faith. Help us not be discouraged or held back by people who don’t believe. Today we go up to the mountain by faith and receive what is rightfully ours. We claim our inheritance because the blessing of Abraham belongs to us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!
