Peace:
Freedom of the mind from annoyance, distraction, anxiety, and obsession, etc.; tranquility; serenity
Philippians 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
So prayer will give us peace. We should not make hasty decisions out of anxiousness to get to the next place. God will give us peace when we enter into His will for our lives. If a decision is consuming everything that we do and driving us crazy, then it is time to step away and pray.
Peace:
Silence; stillness
Psalms 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God;
After we pray, we have to be still. We must sit in silence. As we rest in the peace of God’s stillness, He will begin to give us instructions and strategies to accomplish what is before us. We must first surrender it to Him and trust that He will guide us down the right path. Peace in the decision making process is a confirmation to being on the right path to God’s will in the situation.
Mark 4:39
Then he arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
Sometimes there are so many distractions and disturbances that our thoughts are chaotic and we can’t think clearly. This is the enemy’s plan to stop us from going forth into God’s promise for our lives. When things seem chaotic, it doesn’t always mean that we are on the wrong path. We must learn to stop and speak the word to the situation. We must speak peace to the chaos around us. If peace never comes, then I suggest that you pray and get further instructions from God. Maybe there is something that was missed during your process. When peace does finally come, move forward in faith, trusting that God is with you and will be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path. We serve a great God and He is doing great things. We have to remember that his timing is perfect and waiting on Him is a sign of maturity. He needs us to be patient and wise in fulfilling the purpose he has called us to. I speak peace to your transition and greatness to your purpose. Be expectant, but wait in patience.
Father, we thank You that You have a plan and purpose for our lives. Forgive us for wanting to make choices in our own strength and being consumed with making decisions without allowing You to work out our process. We surrender our will to You and ask that you guide us in every decision giving us peace as confirmation of Your will. Give us wisdom and understanding. Show us how to be quiet in Your presence and receive Your instruction. Work Your perfect patience in us so that we don’t move out of Your timing. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!
