HEAVEN'S GARDEN

Mount Rimpson

3/22/2018

Yesterday I looked at Mount Rimpson and I said be thou removed. Nothing happened. I was determined for it to be gone, so I worked nonstop. After all, faith without works is dead. Mount Rimpson is what I call the laundry pile that reaches the heaven in our household. With 7 people in the house, it only takes a minute for it to get out of control.

The truth is, there is always so much to do. I look at the mountain, then look in everyone’s drawers. If they have something to wear for the next day, I put it off again. I keep telling myself that I should just do a load of laundry every night with everyone’s dirty clothes for the day, but that just adds one more thing on my to do list before I go to bed.

So I literally work all day, only stopping to feed the kids lunch, do the dishes and prepare dinner. Wash, dry. fold, and put away. By the time my husband comes home, it looks like I have done nothing, ugh. Although I accomplished the great task of completely wiping out Mount Rimpson, including towels and whites, the rest of the house has fallen victim to the Rimpson toddlers. My husband knows how hard I work, but doing laundry, cleaning, cooking, etc. are thankless jobs. Everyone is just used to it always being done.

I began to feel sad thinking of my husband coming home to a toddler cluttered and sticky house after I worked so hard all day. I want him to be blinded by the glistening splendor of cleanliness that sparkles as the light hits it, lol, as he walks through the door. It’s such a dramatic and unreasonable expectation for me to put on myself with all of these kids. I guess I just wanted someone to notice my work. Then God spoke. Who are you doing this for?

Colossians 3:23 (NKJV)
23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,

I was reminded that my works are to Him not man. Although, my husband never complains about what I do, I was wanting to be recognized for all of the stuff that nobody sees being done. God sees me and that is enough. My children don’t understand it now, but they will one day grow up to know how blessed they have been to have clean clothes, home cooked meals and a mother at home. I am discipling them by living before them. My reward is their character being developed which is my legacy and their inheritance. I do my best so God can get the glory from my life, not to receive a trophy that I can make as an idol. So as my husband reassured me that in a few years, all the toddlers will be in school and I can do whatever I want with my time, I heard this scripture:

Matthew 25:23 (NKJV)
23 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

Whatever my assignment is, I must be faithful. The joy of the Lord is my portion and strength!

Mark 11:23 (NKJV)
23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

What kind of mountain are you facing? Is it one that has hindered you or overwhelmed you? Ask God for the grace and the strategy to overcome it. Is it an anthill that seems like a mountain (like the pile of granulated onion that my 1-year-old dumped next to my bed while I was doing laundry)? Ask God to see things rationally and give you patience, balance and sound emotions to not blow things out of proportion. Is it a mountain that is not real, but planted by the enemy through fear? Ask God to receive His perfect love that casts out fear and to cleanse you from anything of your past that is holding you in front of that mountain. Is it a mountain that you must climb to see God’s glory? Ask God for the strength and endurance to finish climbing to be in His presence. Whatever your mountain, don’t give up. Give your all and do all things as unto the Lord.

Father, thank You for seeing us in everything that we do. Forgive us for wanting to be acknowledged by man when You are more than enough. Help us face our mountains as victors. Give us faith to address them as You see fit. Help us be faithful to what You give us so that our lives will give You glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Safe & Secure

Walking our road in life is a journey that can be scary. We don’t have all the answers and can only try our best in every situation. While your life's path is different than everyone else’s, the road map is the same. All the instructions that we need are in God’s Word and can come alive for every circumstance.

Loving God with our whole heart is hard for even the best of us. We are only human and are bound to make mistakes. Our mistakes sometimes put us in bad situations. Even when we are at that moment where temptation comes to take us off our path and into destruction, God promises to give us a way to safety.

1 Corinthians 10:13(NKJV)
13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Next time you are at a crossroad that you know in your heart will lead you to danger, look for the escape route. Make a decision to stay on course. God promises to keep you safe. The phone might ring at that moment, someone might text you, an interruption will occur that will give you an opportunity to leave. Take it and run safe to His arms!

Thank You Jesus for being there to rescue us from trouble!

The Chambers of My King

10/11/2017

I answered an altar call and received a much needed word of confirmation and encouragement. I will keep what was spoken to me before the Lord, but there is one piece that I would like to share. The minister of the Lord said “you can’t be too tired to pray”. Everything that I’m believing God for lays in the balance of these words…..

Don’t get me wrong. I pray. I pray all day long. I pray in my head while I do almost everything. I mumble throughout my day like Hannah. I talk to Jesus about it all. The only way that I get through most of my days is through my conversations with the Lord (and a little bit of coffee).

But there is a place. A place of intimacy that I have neglected in my fatigue. A place where I once intentionally met with God.

I have many reasons to be tired. 6 children makes me tired just saying that I have them, lol. Add the other stresses of life, and throw in challenges in my health that cause fatigue, and I have a recipe for some good excuses.

God speaks to me all day long. I call Him my friend. But there is a difference between casual conversations with a friend and an experience in the chambers of your Bridegroom. There is an intimacy that can only manifest past the threshold of the secret place. There is a knowing of revelation that can only be received as a bride.

My healing is on the other side of that threshold. My promises are on the other side of that threshold. My manifested purpose is on the other side of that threshold. They all sit in His chambers like a treasure waiting to be found. It is up to me to contend for them.

At this moment, I am being challenged to push past my flesh and prepare myself to receive from the Bridegroom.  I’m being called into the chambers of my King.

While I love my casual fellowship with the Lord, it no longer satisfies my purpose. There is more. There is supernatural power and heavenly encounters that can only come from being impregnated with seeds of greatness in His chambers.

I’m not the only one. There is more for us all. He says come. Come and lay in my presence. Let Me whisper Words of greatness. Let me affirm who you are. Let Me fill you with instructions for your purpose. I’m waiting for you to enter. Everything that you need is in My chambers.

Revelation 19:6-8 (NKJV)
6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the[a] Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

It’s time to lay down our excuses and pick up our crosses. We have to fight through our tiredness to receive our refreshing. Wholeness is ours. Perfect love belongs to us. It is time to drink the cup that we have been given and fulfill the plans of the Lord for our lives.

Father, we thank You that You have prepared a place of intimacy for us. Forgive us for making excuses and not entering into Your chambers. We want to be a prepared bride that has made herself ready to receive from her King. We want to intentionally cross the threshold of Your chambers into the secret place. We want to purposely contend in prayer and pursue your thoughts and instructions. We want to encounter You in new ways and grow in Your nature. We want the full power of the cross. Everything that You have intended for us is ours. We crucify our flesh and we seek Your Spirit and Your strength. We are yours. Have Your way. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Waiting To Mature

10/5/2017

There is a set time. A time where everything seems to be put in motion and operating with momentum and accuracy. A time when our gifts, talents, and training meet our call and purpose. This time does not just happen, although it has been set. We have a part to play in entering into our predestined purpose.

Jesus was 12 years old and He had left His mother and father to be in the presence of the wise scholars in Jerusalem. His own parents didn’t even notice that He was missing until they had traveled an entire day! This tickles me as a parent in today’s society. I can’t imagine how it would feel to misplace any child, but they lost Jesus!

Luke 2:46-47 (NKJV)
46 Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. 47 And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers.

Of course, Jesus wasn’t in danger’s way. He was amongst leaders who were fascinated with His knowledge and understanding. Even in all that He knew, He was there to learn more!

At 12, Jesus probably had enough knowledge to run circles around our modern day Christian leaders. He probably could have led services and taught the scholars a thing or two.

Luke 2:49-50 (NKJV)
49 And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” 50 But they did not understand the statement which He spoke to them.

The reality is, it wasn’t time. Jesus’ own parents, knowing He was the Son of God, couldn’t yet understand His message. He would not have been received out of His timing. There were things that needed to take place before His big reveal.

Luke 2:51-52 (NKJV)
Jesus Advances in Wisdom and Favor
51 Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

His mother kept all that Had happened in her heart. I’m sure she prayed and fought in the spirit to keep Him in line with His purpose!

Although Jesus was knowledgeable, He was not yet mature. He had to go through some life lessons to gain wisdom that can only come through experience. He had to really know His flesh and learn practical things. He had to walk in perfect obedience during this time of growth to become a pure sacrifice. He had to grow naturally and understand what being a man is like.

The Bible doesn’t list all of His experiences. We can only imagine the kind of things that He did. He probably helped His Dad with his carpentry, He might have helped His mom get food and cook. Whatever it was that He learned, it added to His ability to have compassion for people.

I know some of us are tired of waiting. Some of us have been standing on prophetic promises for years. Jesus waited. He waited until He was mature. He waited 18 years from the time that He was left at the Temple being about His Father’s business.

It’s time to allow God to perfect us. We may have the knowledge for our call, but do we have the wisdom?  Have we grown in favor with God and man? Have we allowed God to work compassion into our hearts to the point of death? Do we have a yes so secure in our souls that when we face our garden of Gethsemane, we will still keep pursuing our assignment?

I want to do what God wants me to do, but I don’t want to do it in my own strength! So we wait. We pray. We repent. We grow. We mature. We make connections.  We grow in favor. We be about our Father’s business!

Father, we thank you for our prophetic promises. Thank You for our gifts and purpose. Forgive us for becoming anxious and getting frustrated. We do not want to be out of Your timing. We want to grow in wisdom and stature. We want to be about our Father’s business and always be teachable and pliable. Align us with our purpose. Help us grow in favor. Pour out Your wisdom on us. We want to know the fullness of our purpose and the depths of Your love that will cause us to move with compassion. We wait for Your timing and settle a yes in our soul. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Parasites In My Soul

9/29/2017

I was reading an article about parasites and was surprised at how common they really are. The article talked about how they are everywhere and how easy it is for them to get into our system by the things we consume and the things that we touch. The article was very interesting because it stressed that it is not about our exposure to these parasites, it is more important to keep a clean/healthy body so that the parasites don’t have a breeding ground. They crave and feed off of everything that is bad for us like processed foods and sugar. Once they are in, they make us fatigued, stressed, depressed, and moody among other symptoms. They actually cause us to crave the very things that we know are bad for us. They eat away at these things and also cause the good nutrients we consume to not be absorbed.

Romans 7:15 (NLT)
15 I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.

I am no doctor and haven’t researched all of these details but this made me begin to pray. I prayed for God to forgive me for not keeping my body clean and causing it to be open to all kinds of sickness. I asked Him to purge my body and all of its systems of any parasites and to transfuse me with His DNA and to correct any cells that have been mutated or deformed by them. I asked Him to show me how to eat clean and make my body worthy to be a temple of the Holy Spirit.

Then God shifted my prayers as I began to weep. How many parasites do we let into our soul? Are our souls breeding grounds for parasites to feed and grow? Are they preventing the good stuff from absorbing into our systems? Are we craving all of the stuff that we know is bad for our souls even though we love Jesus?

I don’t think it is a coincidence that these parasites cause depression, moodiness, and fatigue. Our body and souls are connected and our spiritual growth is being hindered by how we are feeding them.

If the devil can steal our joy and cause depression, then the result would naturally be fatigue because the joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10)! We become frustrated and moody because we aren’t seeing any results due to lack of being able to retain the good things that we fill our spirit with.

I began to pray and repent for letting parasites grow in my soul. I asked God to cleanse me of every toxic thing that I’ve fed my soul that is contrary to the Word of God. I asked Him to remove the parasites that have multiplied because of the lies that have been spoken over me by people and whispered to me by the enemy.   I asked God to remove every wound that was caused from the parasites digging deeper and to replace those holes with every good thing that wasn’t absorbed properly due to parasites stealing it.

Too many of us Love Jesus but don’t live in His fullness. We allow the things and people around us to affect who we are. I am tired of living for God but not receiving all of His benefits.

Psalm 68:19 (NKJV)
19 Blessed be the Lord,
Who daily loads us with benefits,
The God of our salvation!

It is time for me to do all that I can to enter into the joy of the Lord! I’m checking for parasites! I want to be clean in my body, soul, and spirit! I want to be transformed and made completely new again!

Who’s with me?

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NKJV)
19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Father, thank You for the Holy Spirit that is constantly leading and guiding us into truth. Lord forgive us for consuming things naturally and spiritually that aren’t good for us and causing harm. Align us with Your goodness and cleanse us with Your Word. Remove every area/person/thing/thought out of our lives that is a breeding grounds for parasites to do damage to our body and soul. We no longer want our spiritual growth to be hindered and stolen by these parasites devouring the good stuff. Let us enter in to Your fullness. Consume us with Your joy. Show us how to be clean and pure in mind, body and soul. Correct every cell that has been mutated. Repair every breach in our systems. Let Your blood run through us and Your DNA replace our own. We want to be like You! Let us be vessels that are acceptable to carry the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Lord Heal This Phone!

9/18/2017

This has been one of those weeks where it seems that attacks are coming from all sides. Action needed to be taken and finances needed to be dispersed. Being attacked can be physically, mentally, and emotionally draining. The circumstances often can wear us down until we don’t know what to pray, or how to respond.

Through it all, I continued to praise God and believe Him for deliverance. But even in doing this, I forgot to use my God given authority. One of the situations seemed minor compared to the others. My daughters phone had stopped charging. I had to charge my battery, give it to her, then charge her battery in my phone.  All other functions on her phone worked.

We called to get it replaced through the insurance, but the deductible was more than what we could pay at this time due to all the other hits we took from other circumstances. In my own frustration, I began to feel defeated for a moment. Then the Holy Spirit told me to lay hands on her phone.

I laid hands on the phone and asked God to heal it. I commanded the frequencies and wiring to come into alignment with its original design. I declared that it would charge in Jesus’ name. I did this while it was in my daughter’s hands. When I completed the prayer, I told her to charge it. As soon as she connected the phone, it began to charge. The phone aligned with my prayer! Thank You Jesus!

Understand, I am not boasting in my ability to pray. We all have the authority to pray and speak to the things around us. God wants to perfect all things concerning us, but we usually don’t bring the “little” things to Him.

Psalm 138:8 (NKJV)
8 The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;
Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever;
Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

He wants us to pray about everything, not just what we consider major issues.

Philippians 4:6 (NKJV)
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

We are not only to pray, but we are to use our kingdom authority to bring things into order.

Job 22:28 (NKJV)
28 You will also declare a thing,
And it will be established for you;
So light will shine on your ways.

So today I want to encourage you that it is not over. Sometimes things are out of our ability to fix, but it is not the end. We have a God that is bigger than it all. Maybe the “big” issues are taking longer to come to order. What smaller things can you bring to God that will help lighten the load? Make a list of requests, pray, and speak life to those issues!

Father, we thank You for wanting to perfect all things concerning us. Forgive us for not trusting You in the “little” things by our lack of prayer. Help us establish the atmosphere by decreeing Your Word. Help us better understand our kingdom authority and use it to carry Your glory. Thank You for being our deliverer and bringing us order. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

5778 A Year Of Deliverance!

9/1/2017

We are once again coming up on a new year according to the Hebrew calendar. Rosh Hashanah is September 21st sundown until the 22nd at sunset. As I was studying the numbers and praying, God showed me that this will be a year of deliverance.

This is the Hebrew year 5778. The Number 5 (Hey in Hebrew) means window. This window will be used to reveal what was hidden and give new revelation for what needs to be done. 7(Zayin in Hebrew) means weapon. There are 2 of these. One is to cut away everything in your life that is not like God. The other weapon is to take off the enemy’s head. 8 (Chet in Hebrew) means fence. It can signify your heart or an inner room. God is taking you into the secret place to deal with your heart and give you strategy for what’s next. If you let Him, He will circumcise your heart and deliver you from the things that have kept you from your next season.

There will be grace to deal with the trauma of your past and to confront the enemy head on. Great healing will come as you allow the Lord to precisely cut away at those places that have been hiding with infection and seeping into how you filter things in the spirit. Completion will come as you not only receive deliverance from your flesh, but also as you defeat the enemy with your testimony. Your new beginning, your promise, will flow out of how you let the Lord remove your wounds. He will give you a new heart if you let Him. Your surrender is crucial! He is looking for more of you. He desires a higher level of intimacy. He wants to perfect your gifts and equip you with new weapons to advance His Kingdom. Although remember, this is not about you. It is about establishing His army and revealing His greatness through you.

He needs the deliverers to come. He needs the restorers of the breech to come. He needs the ones willing to go to the dark places that you’ve come from to come and pull others out. The time is coming that the Glory of the Lord will rest on His Church. The devil is laughing at the condition of the Church, but demonstration is upon us. God’s Glory and power will move through those willing to die with Christ once again. Miracles, signs, and wonders are waiting to be released.

Come from behind your masks, unlock the vaults of your secrets, look in the mirror through the filter of God’s Word. Receive His love. Receive His Healing. Receive His deliverance. Receive sonship. Receive the power of His glory. Then obey. You are needed. Your assignment is important. You can make a difference. Go in God’s strength!

Insufficient Funds……

5/8/2017

Have you ever felt that you have signed up for more than you could handle? Or started something with good intent, but soon realized that you bit off more than you could chew? Have you ever forgot to document a check in your checkbook and spend the money that was to cover it? Nothing feels worse than getting that insufficient funds notification from your bank. They will usually cover it, but whether they do or not, they charge you for going over. You end up more behind trying to catch up to your mistake. Sometimes this can cause a vicious cycle of robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Life can overwhelm us on so many levels. The devil will try to make us feel like failures. He likes to make us feel insufficient when we make mistakes. He will try to bind us to a mistake and keep us in debt to it. He will make us feel like an empty account with red leaders on our foreheads saying insufficient funds.

If you are human, then I’m sure you can relate to feeling ashamed for some kind of downfall.

Romans 3:23 (NKJV)
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

We have ALL been there! The good news is we don’t have to feel insufficient. While we may feel not enough at times, we have the One who is more than enough on the inside of us. As believers, we are justified freely by His grace. When we come to Him with our shortcomings with repentance, He comes to our present situation with His righteousness.

Romans 3:24-26 (NKJV)
24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

He is the All Sufficient One (El Shaddai). He has made peace with every situation on heaven and earth with His blood. He has canceled our debt and has given us the opportunity to live in the fullness of God. Being full with God, it is impossible to be insufficient. We must stop listening to the voice of the enemy. Our debt has been Paid In Full! He has everything we need to complete us.

Colossians 1:19-20 (NKJV)
Reconciled in Christ
19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

Take peace in knowing that you are enough. God has put greatness on the inside of you. Lean into Him and pull from His strength. You were made for more!

Father, we thank You for paying our debt with the blood of Jesus. Forgive us for feeling insufficient and falling short. We want to be overwhelmed by Your love and goodness, not by the circumstances of this world. Help us keep our focus on You and remember that Your sufficiency is enough. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Late Bloomer

4/19/2017

Looking at the beauty of spring time, I noticed all of the trees that were in bloom. The trees were budding and blooming with all kinds of gorgeous flowers all around me. My trees in the backyard had also started to bloom. But the one in the front, that everyone sees, was not producing anything. I wasn’t sure if this tree would even bloom at all, considering that I hadn’t lived here yet this time last year. It seemed as if every house on the block had a flowered tree except for me. Oh well, I thought. I guess I’ll just have to admire the other trees on the block. But then, 2 weeks later, something happened. My front tree started budding. Before I knew it, it was full with beautiful flowers. My tree was different from the others. The flowers were a different kind. Even though there were a variety of trees that bloomed at the same time, it wasn’t time for mine to show its beauty.

God makes everything beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

Sometimes we get caught up admiring when watching other people are blooming and we get discouraged because we have can’t see our time coming. Our back trees, the ones that nobody sees, are ready. We’ve been through the process. We’ve endured the trials. We’ve passed the tests. We’ve prayed. We’ve believed. We even took time to admire the ones that are ready, but we don’t know if our time will come.

God will showcase you when He’s ready, when you’re ready. He hasn’t forgotten you. Good trees produce good fruit! When you bloom, your fruit will be different than all of the other trees have produced. Your purpose will meet its time. Don’t lose hope. Keep watch. You may seem like a late bloomer, but God’s timing is perfect.

Matthew 12:33 (NKJV)
A Tree Known by Its Fruit
33 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV)
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Just like Jeremiah, your purpose was ordained before you were even born. Keep having hope for your future. You are beautiful. Your time is coming!

Father, we thank You that you make everything beautiful in its time. Give us patience as we wait for our time. Help us not give up hope for our future. Forgive us for doubting You and getting envious while admiring the beauty of others. We want to be good trees that produce god fruit. If there is anything left in us that is not good, show us so that we may be delivered. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Days Like This.....

2/24/2017

On days like this……. Its’ easy to feel overwhelmed. We can blame it on the weather (winter blues/lack of vitamin D). We can blame our spouse. We can blame our children. We can even blame the slow driver ahead of us who made us late, or the person before us in the check-out line with a million coupons to use and pennies to pay with, lol. But when it comes to our joy and personal satisfaction, there is no one more responsible than ourselves. God has given us joy as a gift. It is in our Spirit, but we have to choose to use it.

Galatians 5:22-26 (NKJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

All of these seeds of fruit come from God. We have them, but we must choose to walk in them so that they may grow. We have to water them with God’s Word especially when we feel ourselves responding with the opposite. Many times our joy (along with the other fruits of the Spirit) is stolen because we are walking in our flesh through conceit, provoke, and envy. When the devil can distract us with lies and comparison, then he can steal our joy.  If he can steal our joy, then he knows that we will become weak.

Nehemiah 8:10 (NKJV)
10 Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

We cannot let the enemy catch us weak. Our hope must always be fixed on Jesus. Our joy must come in knowing that His plans for us are perfect and that every season serves its purpose. Even in our imperfections and irritations, God is with us and concerned about all things that concern us. We can’t let the enemy oppress us and depress us into viewing a false image of our identity. We were all made for greatness. He wants us to have peace, but we must seek Him.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NKJV)
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

So on days like today... When I need a break... When I’m questioning all of my choices because of the way that I feel... I must remember to choose joy to give me strength. Maybe I need to pray a little longer today, let go a little more. Maybe I need to take a good look in the mirror and ask God who He sees. Maybe I just need to wash His feet with my tears and let it all out…… but this I know for sure, I must keep moving forward. I must keep my eyes on Him and not lose faith. I must remember every promise, and intentionally choose to walk in the Spirit.

My bad day, doesn’t surprise or overwhelm God or change my destiny/promise. It only tests my faith and maturity. I am in control of my responses (self-control is also a fruit of the Spirit). So are you. So I challenge you today to purposefully choose joy. Pray your way out of feeling heavy, praise your way out of bondage. Laugh in the enemy’s face knowing that He has been defeated by the cross. Jesus is and will always be enough. Keep pushing forward and get refreshed in His presence.

Father, we thank You for the fruit of the Spirit. Forgive us for not consistently choosing to use it. Thank you for being merciful in all of our imperfections. We seek You today searching for truth and purpose in our situations. Show us how to respond with self-control. Teach us how to use joy, even when we don’t feel like it. Make us doers of your Word and not hearers only. Help us get over ourselves, even on days like this. We trust You Lord and know that we are victorious and made for a purpose. Help us walk our paths with diligence and wisdom as we seek You for continual guidance. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!
