Proverbs 13:12

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.

This has been a scripture that has ministered to me over and over again. The definition of hope is the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.

Romans 8:28 (NKJV)

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

We can rest assured in the feeling of hope because when we love God and want His purpose for our lives, He is sure to make it work out for our best! We receive this hope through Jesus. When we commit ourselves to reading the Word of God, it keeps us in a state of hope. God cannot lie and all of His promises are true. This does not change the fact that waiting can make us sick. Waiting can make us question God. It also makes us doubt the very promise that we have been given. The waiting process can be hard and grueling, but we must encourage ourselves in the Lord and continuously remind ourselves of His word. He says that when the promise comes it is like a tree of life. (Notice that it doesn’t say if it comes.) What we hope for is not only coming but it is going to be more awesome than we can imagine. The tree of life is defined in the dictionary as:Top of Form

  • definitions
1. a tree in the Garden of Eden that yielded food giving everlasting life. Gen 2:9; 3:22.

2. a tree in the heavenly Jerusalem with leaves for the healing of the nations. Rev. 22:2.

What God wants to work in us while we are waiting in hope is everlasting life and healing for the nations. I’ve got news for you. It’s not all about us. What he gives us will bring healing for others. He also wants us to be consistent in prosperity, bearing multiple kinds of fruit that produces its fruit every month. A constant stream of blessing!

Revelation 22:2 (NKJV)

2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t perform this kind of success in my own strength. We need to stay in God’s timing and let Him finish the work in us so that we can obtain this kind of result! Be encouraged while you’re waiting. Focus your thoughts on God’s goodness. Put your trust in His promises and continue to press into His presence through prayer and worship. I challenge you to begin to praise God for what He has promised you. Praise Him like you have already received what you have been waiting for. God is faithful and your time is coming!

Father, we thank you for your faithfulness. We thank You that You want things to work out for our best. We put our trust in You and wait in great expectation for our promise to be released like a tree of life into our lives. Forgive us for growing weary and being discouraged. Show us how to encourage ourselves with Your word. We don’t want to interfere with your process by trying to work things out in our own strength. Help us stay in your will and receive the promise that will bring healing to the nations. We praise you in advanced for completing our process. You alone are worthy of all of the glory. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Glory To Glory

I remember when I first got saved…. It was all about me. Deliver me Lord, heal me, free me, help me, show me, promote me, prosper me, and so on. Even though it seems selfish, this is a good start. We need to be fully surrendered to God and understand that nothing lasting is attainable in our own strength. We need Him to do all of those things and more for us. Then, it became all about Him. Whatever You want Lord. Let Your will be done. Send me and I’ll go. You love me so much. Thank You for Your mercy and forgiveness. You alone are worthy. There is none like You. Then it became about others.  Who do You want me to bless. What do they need. Show me how to pray for them. Help me be an answer to their problem. Give me the words to encourage them. Let them see how good You are by how I treat them. Each of us has different assignments and different seasons that we must go through. Every season should bring forth growth and fruit that will prepare us for our next assignment. God is a God of increase. If we are not growing or producing fruit (this could be spiritually or naturally), then it must be time to shift into something new. I find myself going through these cycles, over and over as God continues to grow me. In each new assignment God deals with me first. My mind, my understanding, my attitude, my doubt, and whatever else could hinder His plans for my new season. Next, in awe of God’s love and deliverance I become surrendered to His will, even if at first I didn’t understand what He was doing. My faith grows as He answers my prayers of deliverance and I’m thankful for the change that is taking place within me. Next I begin to see that the change isn’t just for me. It is for all those that I come in contact with! God’s purpose is for us to bring glory to His name by the transformation that takes place by His love. Our transformation is to be used to help others come to God and be transformed and prepared for their own assignment. We should be making disciples!

2 Corinthians 3:17-18(NKJV)

17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

We grow from glory to glory. Each process should make us look more like Him. We yield to His Spirit. We get delivered. Our eyes are opened with understanding and we become more like Him. This is a constant cycle. The minute we feel like we have arrived and don’t need any more deliverance, is the moment where we become stagnant. God can’t transform you if you feel like you don’t have anything left to change. You will never see the next level of glory unless you yield to God showing you the areas of yourself that need to be dealt with. He wants to make those places in your life look like Him, just like he is looking in a mirror! So I encourage you today to check yourself. Evaluate if you are bringing forth fruit and growing. Ask God to show you what He wants to deal with. Cry out for deliverance. The faster you surrender, the faster the new level of glory may come. God wants to do a quick work. He wants to prepare you for new levels in every area of your life. He wants you to look forward.

 Philippians 3:13-15(NKJV)

13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.

As we look and move forward, God will elevate us.

Father, we thank you that your desire is to bring us from glory to glory. Deal with our hearts so that we can be convicted of the areas that you want to deal with for this season. We want to continue to grow. Forgive us for thinking that we have it all together. We need You in everything that we do and want to be transformed into Your image daily. Help us leave the old things behind and move towards the new thing that You have for us. Help us complete each process in Your timing so that You can finish the work that You start. We don’t want to get stuck, but we also don’t want to move prematurely. Make us aware of our assignments and the seasons as You shift. We want to be sensitive to the spirit and move when You move. We want others to see Your reflection when they look at us. We want to look like You so we surrender our will for Yours. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Patience To Receive Your Promise

8/17/2015

Sometimes it is so hard to wait for something that you know you’re about to receive. When you have been promised something, waiting for it can seem like a lifetime of torture. The bible is filled with so many promises. Each one of us are waiting on different things according to our calling and walk with God, but none less important than the next. Patience is a fruit of the spirit. I teach my children that being patient is waiting calmly without complaining or getting an attitude.

Romans 5:2-4(KJV)

2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

It says here that our patience is what gives us our experience. We have to go through many different tribulations in the process of waiting to get the experience we need to properly manage our promise when received. Our experience is what gives us hope.

Hebrews 6:12

That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

We cannot be lazy in our waiting. We must follow the leaders that God has given us. There are many examples of people that have blazed a trail of faith showing us how to endure and persevere through our situations in order to receive our promise.

Hebrews 10:36

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Even after we do the will of God, we must still wait on His perfect timing. Just because we obey, doesn’t mean God is going to release our promise immediately. Our obedience is seed that is sown into our inheritance and only God knows the perfect time for it to be released.

James 1:3-5King James Version (KJV)

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

While we are waiting, the devil is sure to come and tell us that our promise isn’t coming, that we’ve done something wrong, or that we just completely missed what God was doing. We have to keep our faith strong by prayer and declaration. We must speak those things that are not as though they were. When God is done working patience in us, we will be whole and wanting nothing. That means that our promise will be fulfilled without leaving anything out to be desired! In the mean time we must continue to ask God for wisdom in our journey. God will give it to those who ask.

Father, we thank You for every promise that you have for us. We thank You that we have an inheritance waiting to be released. Forgive us for not being patient. We ask that You perfect patience in us so that we may have hope, receive wholeness and lack nothing. Build our faith and remove doubt. Help us fight against the enemy that discourages, by using our sword of Your word in prayer and declaration. Give us wisdom for our journey. We expect great things and wait patiently for Your timing. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

God Loves You

We as created man, have a natural desire and longing to be loved. I believe God placed this in us so that we may seek after Him. Unfortunately, many of us (me being one), didn’t realize that love is a gift, a fruit, an attribute, and a commandment that comes from Him. We spend most of our lives making bad decisions because of our neediness for love. We try to fill a void in our hearts with the love from this world not knowing that it is kept and waiting for the perfect love of God to enter.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Can you imagine loving someone so much that You are willing to sacrifice your greatest treasure for the good of others. Would you give up your only child, your riches or fame, or the only thing that makes you feel important? As a mother, I can’t imagine willingly offering any of my children. I believe God is only capable of this magnitude of love. God does not mourn in the death of Jesus, but rejoices over us that we now have a choice for everlasting life. We don’t have to die in our sins without knowing love. His love has restored hope for our future. When we believe in His fullness, God’s love is poured in us in the form of the Holy Spirit which is able to lead us and guide us into all truth.

Romans 5:5
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

God loves each one of us even in our own foolishness. The devil will make us think that we have to clean ourselves up to come to God. He will make us feel like we have to have a certain kind of clothes or hair, we have to quit certain habits, and change our lifestyles before we come to Jesus. The truth is that we can never in our own strength clean ourselves up good enough compared to the righteousness of God. His love is the only thing that can perfect us and make us righteous. It is only through the blood of Jesus that we can become clean.

Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Christ died for us knowing that we were sinners. He didn’t wait to see if we would get it together first. He knew that His love by the way of His blood would cover a multitude of sins. There is no sin that is too big or powerful for God’s love to cover. God will freely forgive everything that we’ve done if we only receive Him, believe that He died for us and rose from the dead, and confess that He is Lord. We have to admit our sins, and ask for His forgiveness.  I’m not only talking about salvation from hell. I am talking about complete victory, freedom from condemnation, experiencing the kind of love that will bring us joy in loving God, ourselves, and others that way He has called us to.

1 John 4:7-9(NKJV)
Knowing God Through Love

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

We must live our lives through God’s love. We must show the world God’s unconditional love so that they may have a chance to be drawn to him and experience His love for themselves. God’s love will not only transform our life and give us victory, but will change the world through us!

Father, we thank You for Your love. We can never repay you for Your sacrifice but only love the way You have commanded us.  We accept You in our hearts and believe that You have died and rose from the dead. We confess that You are Lord. Forgive us for not walking in love. Forgive us for trying to fill voids in our hearts with things that aren’t from your love. Fill us with the fullness of Your Spirit. Perfect us in Your love by Your power and for Your glory. Help us be a living testimony of Your love and goodness so that we may change the world. Let people be drawn to You by the love that we show them. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

Rapid Growth

I am soon approaching nine years of being saved. By my second year of salvation, people didn’t believe that I had no prior “church” training. They would always ask me how grew so quickly. My answer would always be repentance and obedience.  I had tried to do everything on my own. I was in my own wisdom, strength, and power. I had many gifts, but no matter what I did, I never could prosper. I was a mess.

Luke 5:32

I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

I needed a savior! I had exhausted every other option and was desperate for change. After accepting Christ, I soon realized that any of my own “goodness” was nothing without the goodness of Jesus. I prayed and cried out for God to give me His heart. I wanted Him to show me my flaws so I could surrender them to Him and He could make me whole. Nine years later, I’m still repenting. Repentance is a continual action. We repent and ask Jesus in our heart for salvation and Jesus’ honors that, but we must take up our cross daily (crucify our flesh) to become whole.  This process will take us from faith to faith and glory to glory. God wants it to be on earth as it is in heaven. He wants us to function in the fullness of what He has called us to. Every time we feel comfortable in our selves He is sure to reveal our flaws and pull back another layer in need of deliverance. Our need for Him is never ending. We can do nothing lasting outside of Him! God is always sure to give us instruction after repentance. Whether it be through His word, personal revelation, or by a messenger sent by Him, he wants us to be set on the proper path. It is then our obedience that will produce the blessing. If we don’t feel like we are receiving an answer we may be sure that every solution is in the Bible, but we must search it out. Even at times when I felt God was specifically talking to me personally, I would always be brought back to scripture to back it up.  We all are a forever work in progress. The moment when we think that we have arrived will be the moment that we stop growing. I challenge you to take a deeper look at your inward parts and ask God to measure you against His word. God wants to bring you higher, but he is waiting on you to come. This message is for everyone. No one person is exempt.

Acts 20:21

Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

God is patient with us and wants us all to experience the fullness of His promise towards us.

2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Father, we thank You for Your patience and mercy towards us. We want to come up higher and experience a new level of Your glory. Show us ourselves and bring conviction in the areas you want to deal with now. Forgive us for not being quick to repent and casting judgment on others before looking at ourselves. Show us in Your word how to live according to the fullness of Your promise for our lives. Make us whole that we might have an impact on those around us and have greater influence for the advancement of Your kingdom. We choose to obey and give You glory. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!
